Awaiting the New Day
Just before dawn the darkness of night slowly begins to give way to the burst of light. It doesn’t happen instantly. It takes its own time. As we move into the dawning of a new year, we stand before a slowly unfolding mystery. What will this new year bring to us. In uncertain times it is easy to experience disquiet within our hearts but the guiding Light of Christ promises to lead us in ways of hope
Christ our Light offers us the promise of faithfulness in a world that seems inconstant
Christ our Light offers us the warmth of love when we feel alone and helpful
Christ our Light offers us an abiding presence to accompany us into the future
Christ our Light reminds us that God alone suffices
Christ our Light is our star leading us through uncertainty, doubt and fear.
Scientists tell us we are all made of stardust. May we come to know that we are lights of Christ for each other.
