Holy Spirit Prayer Community

The Holy Spirit Prayer Community is open to all members of the parish. Members of the prayer community:

Commit to daily/weekly prayer for the parish and its members

  • Gather monthly for Eucharistic adoration and prayer of intercession [optional]
  • Participate in the work of mercy “to pray for the living and the dead”
  • Foster a community of care and solidarity through prayer

The prayer community supports the life of the parish through its prayer recognizing that all we do begins and ends in God.

If you are interested, please contact Marcia Kolb by calling (916)443-5442.

Bereavement Committee

The Bereavement committee provides a reception after a funeral Mass. Monsignor O’Connor informs the committee of a request from the family of the deceased to have a gathering in the church hall. The committee consists of volunteers from the parish community. We provide sandwiches, salads, desserts, coffee and punch. This service is provided by the Holy Spirit Parish and is supported by donations.

St. Vincent de Paul

“Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. As a reflection of the whole family of God, members, who are known as Vincentians, are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group and economic level. Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility and sharing, which is nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings.
No distinction in those served, because in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ.

Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes. The Holy Spirit St. Vincent de Paul Chapter meets on the 4th Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Hall. Anyone interested is invited to join us!
